According to World Health Organization, 1 in 3 women will experience sexual violence in their lifetime, with 7% of those women having experienced rape or attempted rape.
Similarly, a total of 11,200 rape cases, including children who were raped to death, were reported in Nigeria in 2020. Africa has the highest prevalence rate of child sexual abuse around 34.4 percent.
Rape is now a global issue faced by many communities, States, and nations. A larger percentage of the world is running through sexual abuse and run into depression and several related issues.
To avoid the increase and enlargement, we need to take the following steps:
1. Education and Awareness: Promote comprehensive sex education programs in schools that cover consent, healthy relationships, and gender equality. Conduct awareness campaigns in communities and online platforms to challenge rape culture, myths, and victim-blaming attitudes. by many communities, States, and nations. A larger percentage of the world is running through sexual abuse and run into depression and several related issues.
Encourage open discussions about consent, boundaries, and respect within families, schools, workplaces, and communities. Taking this first step will reduce, and boost the confidence of teenagers and youth to tackle the issues of rape.
On the 27th of June, 2000 daylight entered the town of Malesh where rape was a pride for the young men who measure their strengths as men by the number of ladies they've raped. The young ladies of the town were encouraged to meet the village head that girl children have an equal right to education.
As far as 3 years ago, the rate of increase in rape increased by 40% difference. Young ladies were broken after the incident and the guys took pride in the wickedness they did to ladies.
Girls were eventually allowed to go to school and learn a lot about their rights as ladies. No one cared until they knew until they learned about it themselves. They fought for their freedom and we're saved from exploitation.
2. Prevention Strategies: Implement prevention programs targeting different age groups and communities. Engage men and boys in preventing violence through initiatives that address harmful attitudes and behaviors. Promote bystander intervention training to empower individuals to intervene and prevent incidents of sexual violence.
A lot of prevention strategies have been taken by a lot of leaders, sex advocates, and purity educators in society. Taking this will help them to rebuild and strengthen the work they've done before.
3. International Cooperation: Collaborate with international organizations, governments, and NGOs to share best practices, resources, and strategies for combating sexual violence. Support global efforts to address systemic issues such as trafficking, conflict-related sexual violence, and violence against marginalized communities.
It is important to recognize that long-term commitment and effort from society as a whole. These steps are just a starting point, and ongoing evaluation and adaptation of strategies are essential to ensure progress in the fight against sexual violence.
